Nil-Pitambar Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Bakas Khap, which is in the Lesliganj area. We are located at Yamuna Singh’s house, at House Number 1. We are a small group of people from the village who work in agriculture. It’s a quiet place and we like it that way. We spend our days out in the fields or sitting on the porch talking about the crops. We don’t have a big office with shiny floors. It’s just a regular house where we keep our records and meet with other farmers. We started this company because we wanted to have a better way to sell what we grow. Everyone in Bakas Khap knows us. We aren't trying to be big or famous. We just want to get a fair price for the hard work everyone puts into the land. The sun is hot and the work is long, but it’s what we have always done. We deal with seeds and rain and the dirt. It’s a simple life and we take things one day at a time. If the harvest is good, we feel lucky. If it isn't, we just try again next year. We don't have any fancy marketing or slogans. We just show up and do the work that needs doing. It’s just a local business for local people who understand the soil and how to make things grow in this part of the country.
