Mahakali Electronic

We’re right there on the ground floor of Mangla Chembers, which is basically on the side of National Highway 8. At Mahakali Electronic, the sound of the trucks flying by is something we hear all day long. It’s a busy spot near Hotel Supreme, so we get a lot of people stopping in who are just passing through or drivers needing something fixed. The shop isn’t very big, and every shelf is packed with something—wires, circuit boards, small components, you name it. It gets quite dusty because of the highway traffic, so I spend a good part of the morning just wiping down the counters and the glass cases. We do a lot of small repairs here. People bring in things that have stopped working, and we sit at the back bench with a soldering iron trying to find the problem. It’s quiet work compared to the noise outside. Sometimes we have to wait days for a specific part to arrive by courier. We know the other shop owners in the building well, and we usually share tea in the afternoons when there’s a lull in customers. It’s a simple setup. We don’t have a website or anything like that; people just see the sign from the road and pull over. We just try to get the jobs done so people can get back on their way. It’s a lot of looking at tiny parts under a magnifying lamp and hoping our eyes don't get too tired.
