A Impex

A Impex is located right in the middle of the action at the APMC Fruit Market in Vashi, Sector 9. Our spot is C-4 2/2:3. Being in a market like this means our day starts very early, often before the sun is up. The whole area is full of trucks and people moving crates of fruit. It’s loud, it’s messy, and it smells like a mix of diesel and ripening produce. Our office is small and tucked away, but it’s where we handle all the booking and payments. We don't have fancy furniture because it would just get dirty with the dust and mud. We use basic wooden desks and old filing cabinets that have been here for years. Most of our work is face-to-face with traders or over the radio with drivers. We deal with the logistics of getting produce from the farms to the market and then out to other places. It’s fast-paced. If you aren't quick, you get in someone's way. We drink a lot of chai to stay awake during the early morning rush. There is no such thing as a quiet day here. We don't have a website or a marketing person. People just know where we are in the market by looking for the sign. It’s honest work, and it’s been this way for years. We just keep the fruit moving through A Impex. It's a tough environment but it's home.
