You can find us at the Open Shed in the APMC Fruit Market over in Sector 19 Turbhe. Shreemurthi Basavraj Gowda & Company is the name we use for our business there. Being in an open shed means we are right out in the elements all day long. If it is hot we feel it and if it is windy the dust blows right through our workspace. But it is the best way to be near the fruit and the people who come to the market. Turbhe is a very busy area and the traffic can be a nightmare sometimes. We have to get there very early to secure our space and start the day's work. There are always people moving crates and shouting out orders. It is a very loud environment and your ears might ring a bit after a long shift. We handle a lot of different fruits and you have to be quick to spot what is good and what isn't. Shreemurthi Basavraj Gowda & Company is a family-run kind of thing and we don't have any fancy uniforms. We just wear our regular clothes and get to work. The APMC market is a world of its own and we are just happy to have a spot in Sector 19 where we can do our trading. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn until the afternoon when the market finally starts to quiet down for the day.
