You can find us at Kay Bouvat Eng Ltd on the ground floor of the Jai Jawan Building, which is Plot No 40 in Sector 17, Vashi. Being near Apana Bazar means there is always a crowd outside and plenty of noise from the shoppers and the traffic in Mumbai. The office is a straightforward place where we handle engineering work and keep all our technical documents. It’s a ground floor unit, so it’s easy to duck in and out of, though the humidity from the coast can make the air feel heavy inside. We have several old metal filing cabinets that are stuffed with years of records, and the desks are mostly covered in computer monitors and loose cables. It’s not a fancy corporate environment with modern art on the walls. We just have a few calendars and some old photos of projects we’ve worked on. The tea man comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a short break to talk about anything other than engineering. Vashi is a busy hub, and being in Sector 17 means we are right in the middle of everything. It can be a bit chaotic with the trains and the buses nearby, but we’ve gotten used to the pace over the years. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done each day. Sometimes the power fluctuates, and we have to wait a moment for the computers to restart.
