Our factory, Garden Flavours Co Pvt Ltd, is located at W-275 in the Rabale MIDC Industrial Area in Navi Mumbai. Being in an MIDC zone means we are surrounded by other factories and warehouses. It’s a very practical place for a business like ours. We spend our time working on different flavorings and ingredients. It involves a lot of weighing, measuring, and checking the quality of each batch. Some days the whole unit smells like fruit or spices, which is a nice change from the usual industrial smells of the neighborhood. We aren’t a fancy company with big offices and polished lobbies. Most of our space is used for production and storage. We have a small team of people who have been with us for a long time. We don’t use any complicated business speak or marketing tactics. We just focus on the work that needs to be done. The Rabale area is good for logistics, though the commute can be long for some of us. We have the usual challenges of running a manufacturing unit, like keeping the machines in good shape and managing the schedules. We stay busy with the orders and don’t spend much time worrying about how we look to the outside world. It’s just about being consistent and getting the products out the door. We’ve been here for years and we know the area well.
