We’re based in Raheja Arcade over in CBD Belapur, which is a major commercial hub for this part of Navi Mumbai. Our office is located at Number 204, right in Sector 11. It’s a very busy building with a lot of other companies operating on every floor, so there’s always a stream of people moving through the corridors. Here at Smart Freight Metrics, we spend the majority of our time looking at logistics data and complicated shipping schedules. It probably sounds more exciting than it actually is on a daily basis. A lot of the work involves just making sure the numbers in our system match up with what's actually happening out on the roads or at the shipping ports. We don't have any fancy decorations or art in the office, just the usual computers, some old chairs, and a whiteboard that's completely covered in scribbles and notes we can barely read ourselves. The small canteen downstairs is where we usually end up for our lunch because it's fast and easy. Working in Belapur is quite convenient because of the train station nearby, but the walk from the platform to the building can be very hot and tiring in the middle of summer. We’re a small team, so we don’t have those big corporate departments or layers of management. Everyone just chips in with whatever needs doing at the moment. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a report, but we try to get home on time.
