This Z P Primary School is tucked away in Kawanai, which is a quieter part of Nashik. It’s a Zilla Parishad school, so it’s really the heart of the local community here. Most of the children live just a short walk away, and you see them coming in groups every morning. The building is simple, just a few rooms with sturdy walls and roofs that keep the sun out. We have a big open space in front where the morning prayers happen. It’s a peaceful spot, away from the main city rush. The kids here are energetic, and they spend a lot of time playing in the dirt during their breaks. We don't have computer labs with dozens of machines, but we have our books and our chalkboards. The teachers often have to do everything from teaching to keeping the records and checking on the midday meals. It is a lot for a small group of people to handle, but we have been doing it for years. Sometimes a stray dog wanders into the yard and the kids get all excited. We just shoo it away and get back to the lesson. Life moves at a different pace in Kawanai. We focus on the basics like reading, writing, and simple sums. The parents are mostly farmers or local workers who stop by to talk about their child's progress. It’s just an honest, small-town school trying to do right by the local kids who attend classes here every day.
