Yashodhan Hair Saloon

This is Yashodhan Hair Saloon over in Nashik. We are in Shop Number 4 of the Shivam Apartment building on Jail Road. It’s right across from Suman Jewlers. This is a basic barbershop where men from the neighborhood come to get a haircut or a shave. We have the usual revolving chairs and big mirrors that have been there for years. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so we are always sweeping it up. It’s a small space, so you can hear everything everyone is talking about, usually cricket or local news. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long. The guys who work here have been cutting hair for a long time. We use the straight razors and warm towels like people expect. It gets busy in the mornings before men go to work and again in the evenings. On Sundays, there is usually a line out the door, so people sit on the bench outside and wait their turn. We don’t do anything fancy like styling for movies, just regular cuts that look neat. It’s a simple business on a busy road. We’ve seen the shops around us change many times, but we just stay here doing the same thing every day. It is honest work and we have many regulars who have been coming for years.
