Vicks Hair Saloon

Vicks Hair Saloon is located on Wadala Pathardi Road in the Indira Nagar area of Nashik. We are right across from St George Church, which makes us pretty easy to find. The shop is a modest one. It’s been in this spot for quite some time now. I decided to name it Vicks because it was a name that stuck in my head. We don't have any fancy signs or neon lights. It’s just a regular barber shop for the men in this part of town. The chairs are old-fashioned but they are sturdy. I think people like the familiar feel of the place. It’s not intimidating like some of those new places in the malls. We just do standard haircuts and shaves. Most of the time, the conversation is about what’s happening in Nashik or some local sports. I’ve got a few assistants who help out when it gets busy, especially on Sundays when everyone wants to look good for the week ahead. We keep our combs in the blue liquid and our towels are always being washed. It’s a simple business but it’s ours. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure the people who walk out of here look a bit better than when they walked in. It’s practical work and it keeps us busy.
