Top Class Salon

Our shop is number 26 in the Anand Bazaar area, right on Tilak Road here in Nashik Road. It is quite easy to find since we are close to the Jama Masjid. The street stays busy with people shopping and cars going by, especially in the evenings. We’ve been running Top Class Salon with just the basic stuff you need for a haircut. There are a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day to keep the air moving. Usually, there’s a pile of newspapers on the small table for anyone waiting their turn. We aren't doing anything fancy like the shops in the big malls. It’s mostly just neighborhood folks and people who work nearby coming in. Sometimes the door sticks a bit when it’s humid, and the floor has some scratches from years of moving the heavy chairs around. We keep our combs in the blue liquid and try to keep the mirrors clean, though the dust from Tilak Road makes that a constant job. You’ll hear the calls from the Masjid while you’re sitting in the chair. It is a familiar sound for us. We open up and stay until the market starts to quiet down at night.
