Swami Hair Saloon

Swami Hair Saloon is located right by Nawjeewan School in the Cidco area of Nashik. Being so close to the school means we hear the bell ring every day and see all the kids running around in the afternoon. It’s a lively place to be. The shop itself is quite modest. I have been at this location for many years, and not much has changed inside. We have the same wooden chairs and the old radio that only picks up a few stations. I like it that way because it feels familiar. My customers are mostly local residents from Cidco and some of the teachers from the school. We don't do any of those modern styles that you see in the movies. We just do regular haircuts and shaves for men who want a simple service. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but nobody seems to mind too much. We just sit and talk until the lights come back on. I’ve lived in Nashik my whole life and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. This shop is my livelihood and I take it seriously, even if it’s just a small place. It’s honest work and it keeps me busy from morning until night. We are just a part of the daily life here in the 422009 neighborhood.
