Sunil Hair Cutting Salon

Our shop, Sunil Hair Cutting Salon, has been a part of the Main Road in Panchavati for a while now. Nashik is a busy place, and being on the main road means there is always noise and movement outside the door. It is just a small space, nothing like those huge salons you see in the movies. We have three chairs, though usually only two are being used at once. I spend a lot of my day just standing here with a pair of scissors and a comb. The walls are painted a simple off-white, and I’ve got some posters of different haircuts, though most people just want the same thing every month. It gets pretty hot in the summer, but the ceiling fan keeps things moving. We don't have any fancy music playing, just the sound of the television in the corner or the radio. I like the morning time best when the sun comes through the front window before the street gets too dusty. People from the neighborhood stop in not just for a haircut, but to chat about the local news or what's happening at the temple. I try to keep everything tidy, but by the end of the day, there is hair everywhere on the floor. It’s just how it is. I don’t use any expensive products, just the regular stuff that works. It’s a simple life here in Nashik, and I’m happy just keeping the shop open and seeing familiar faces.
