Sri Venkateswara Emu Farm

Sri Venkateswara Emu Farm is located right opposite Shriram Talkies in Ulhasnagar. We’ve been here for a good while now, mostly just focusing on the birds. Emu farming isn't the most common thing you see around here, but it's what we decided to do years ago. It’s a family-run operation. My sons help me with the feeding and keeping the pens in order. It’s a lot of work, honestly. These birds are big and they can be quite loud when they want to be. People often stop by just because they’re curious about the eggs or the oil we produce. We don't have a fancy office or a big sign. It’s just the farm and the birds. Some days are slow and quiet, but other times it feels like there isn't enough time to get everything done. We spend a lot of our mornings checking on the younger birds. They’re quite fragile when they’re small, so we have to be careful with the weather. We aren't experts with fancy degrees; we just learned by doing it every day. Sometimes things break, like a fence or a gate, and we have to fix it ourselves. We sell what we have directly from the farm gate. If you’re passing by Shriram Talkies, you’ll probably see us out there working. We just keep our heads down and take care of the animals. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy.
