Sona Stores

Sona Stores is tucked into No. 2 of Minakshi Tower on Doctor Ambedkar Road. It’s a busy spot because of the railway station road nearby. There’s always people rushing to catch trains or coming back home from work in the evenings. We opened up here because it seemed like a good place to be for a small shop. The space is small, just enough room for the stock and a couple of us to work comfortably. We spend the morning getting things ready before the commuters start moving in large numbers. The noise from the station road is constant, but you get used to it after a while. It’s not a shiny new mall store, just a regular place with wooden shelves and a simple counter. We handle everything ourselves, from cleaning the floors in the morning to checking the inventory at night. If someone asks for something we don’t have, we try to remember to get it for next time. It’s mostly just hard work and being here every day without fail. We see a lot of travelers and locals passing through. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the afternoon, especially when the trains are running on time and everyone is in a hurry. We don't use any big marketing tricks to get people inside. People find us because we’re right there in the tower. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We’ve been at this for a bit now and know the area well.
