Shree Saikrupa Salon

Over here at Shree Saikrupa Salon in the Krishna Building, things move at their own pace. We are located on Pathardi Road right in the Pathardi Phata area which stays busy because of the hospital nearby. Most days start with us setting out the combs and making sure the water heater is actually working. You can hear the bikes and trucks rushing past outside all day long. It is a small space so we have to be organized or else everything ends up in a pile. We get a mix of people coming in, some just looking for a quick shave and others who want to sit for a bit and talk about what’s happening in Nashik. We don't have those big fancy chairs that lean all the way back, but the ones we have work just fine for what we do. The lighting could be better in the back corner but we manage. Usually, there is some music playing from a phone or the radio to drown out the traffic noise. We keep a stack of old newspapers for anyone waiting their turn. It’s not a glamorous job, cleaning up hair and dealing with fussy clients sometimes, but it’s what we do. By the time the sun goes down and the street lights come on, we are usually finishing up the last few regulars before locking the shutters. It’s a quiet life in a loud part of town.
