Savita Beauty Parlor

Being here in Nashik for a while now, you get to know how things work in the neighborhood. My parlor isn't in a big building, just a regular spot in the 422001 area. I keep things pretty basic. There are two main chairs and a bench for people to wait on if I'm already busy with someone else. Most of the time, it's just the sound of the radio or maybe some neighbors chatting about their day while I work. I don't go for those bright, blinding lights you see in new shops. I prefer the soft light we have here, even if it means I have to lean in a bit closer sometimes. The floor is tile, so it's easy to keep clean, which is a good thing because hair gets everywhere. Usually, the mornings are slow, and I spend that time reorganizing the bottles and checking my supplies. In the evenings, it picks up when people are coming home from work or finishing their shopping. It’s a small life but it’s mine. I know which customers like to talk and which ones just want to close their eyes for ten minutes. There’s no big sign or flashing lights outside, just the name on the door and the smell of soap and shampoo hanging in the air. It feels like home to me after all these years of standing on these same floors every day.
