If you go to the shopping complex in Trimbakeshwar, you’ll find us there at Sairaj Hair Cutting. We are in the Amrutkumbh area. Being in a place like Trimbakeshwar means we see a lot of people coming for the temple. Some are locals who have lived here forever, and others are just passing through on a pilgrimage. The shop is quite compact. We have to keep everything organized or we run out of space to move around the chairs. I have a small sink in the back for washing hair, but most people just want a dry cut and a quick spray of water. The towels are stacked on a shelf above the mirror. I keep a calendar on the wall to mark off the days and some pictures of gods near the entrance. The floor is a bit uneven, so you have to be careful where you stand. I use a lot of talcum powder, so there’s always a faint smell of it in the air. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just have to work with the light from the door. It doesn't bother me much. I’ve worked in all kinds of conditions over the years. We keep the prices low because we know people don't have a lot to spare. It’s a honest day's work and I'm glad to be part of the community here. We just try to do right by the people who come in.
