You can find us at Mayureshpark-I, right near the police quarters in Rane Nagar, Nashik. We operate out of Bhimrao Ramaji Kakad’s place, which is Row House number 1. It is a quiet residential neighborhood, but it is where we do all our planning for the organic farming group. Recon Organic Farmers Producer Company Limited is the name we go by. We are a bunch of farmers from around the Nashik area who wanted to do things a bit differently. Organic farming isn't the easy route by any means, but we think it is the right one for our families and the people who eat our food. We don’t have a big store or a fancy corporate headquarters with a lobby. It is just a room where we sit down, look at the account books, and decide what to do next for the season. Most of the guys are out in their own fields during the day. We only really gather at the house when there is something important to discuss, like new seeds or a buyer coming through the area. It is a very local operation and we like it that way. We know everyone by name and their families too. There is no marketing department here, just us trying to make sure the organic produce gets handled properly and sold for a fair price. It is a lot of work, and sometimes the paperwork is a bit much.
