Pankaj Food Product

Pankaj Food Product is tucked away near Somwari Mata, right in the heart of Lohar Bazar and close to Bhat Bazar. This part of town is incredibly old and the streets are very narrow, which makes getting supplies in and out a bit of a challenge. You have to know exactly when the trucks can squeeze through the lanes. We make various food items here, and the smell of spices or fried goods often drifts out into the lane. It’s a small, crowded space where everyone knows each other’s business. We have a few workers who have been with us for years, and they are more like family than staff. The floors are a bit uneven and the walls have seen better days, but we keep the place as clean as we can for the work we do. There isn't any corporate polish here. We hand-write a lot of our notes and the phone rings constantly with local shopkeepers placing their orders. It’s a noisy, lively environment with the sounds of the bazar right outside the door. Sometimes we sit on the front step during a slow moment just to watch the people go by. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just making products that people in the neighborhood like to eat. When the market shuts down for the night, we lock up the heavy metal shutters and head home to get some rest.
