Narendra Hair Salon

Our shop is right on Tilak Path Road, directly across from the Jama Masjid. If you know Nashik Road, you know it is a crowded spot with people always moving around. Narendra Hair Salon has been here for years, and we’ve seen plenty of shops around us open and close. We just stay here doing what we know. The space inside is narrow, so we have to be careful when we move around the chairs. We’ve got the old radio sitting on a shelf that plays local stations all day long. Sometimes it’s just static, but it fills the silence. The walls are painted a light color that’s faded over time. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just the ceiling fan that wobbles a little when it’s on the highest setting. It’s a honest way to make a living. We do shaves with the straight razor and simple haircuts for the men in the neighborhood. Some guys come in just to sit and talk for a bit even if they don’t need a trim. We know most of the families around here by now. It’s a good community on Tilak Path. We don't try to be anything we aren't, just a place where you can get your hair cut for a fair price and go back to your day. We start around nine in the morning and usually wrap up when the street lights come on. It is enough for us and we keep going.
