Nanda Hair Saloon

Nanda Hair Saloon is right across from the Vihar Hotel on Gangapur Road. We are in the Sharmila Appt building at Old Gangapur Naka. This part of Nashik is quite lively and there is always something going on. My family has been doing this kind of work for a very long time. We offer basic haircuts and shaves for the men in the area. The shop is small, but it’s got a lot of character and history. We have these big mirrors that make the small room look a bit larger than it actually is. On a typical day, I’m here from early in the morning until late in the evening. There’s always hair on the floor, no matter how many times I sweep it up during the day. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that works hard to keep us cool. People come in, wait their turn on the wooden bench, and read the local newspaper. We know the stories and families of most of our customers because they’ve been coming to us for many years. It’s not just about the hair, it’s about the connection we have with the people here. We use the old-style razors and stones for sharpening. It’s a traditional way of doing things, and it still works well today. We don't try to be like those expensive shops in the malls. We are just a local saloon where you get an honest haircut for a good price.
