About Kumbhakarna Brass Factory – Safety & Security in Nashik
Kumbhakarna Brass Factory is located at No-1935-36, right near the Bdharkaali Mandir. Being in Old Tambat Lane means we are surrounded by the history of metalwork in this part of Mhasrul Tek. It’s a loud place to work, to be honest. The sound of hammers hitting metal starts early in the morning and doesn't really stop until we lock the heavy doors at night. The air inside the factory is always warm because of the melting pots and the furnace. We’ve got soot on the rafters and old tools that have been passed down through a couple of generations. It’s hard work and your hands are always stained grey by the end of the shift. We make all sorts of brass items, from small household things to larger pieces that take a few days to finish. The floor is concrete and usually covered in metal shavings that we have to sweep up every few hours. Being so close to the temple, we get a lot of people passing by on festival days. The building itself is quite old and has some cracks in the plaster, but it stays standing. We don’t spend much time on the office part of things; most of the day is spent out on the floor with the guys. It’s not the cleanest environment, but it’s where the real work happens. We just focus on getting the brass melted and poured into the molds correctly.
