Kamlesh Hair Saloon

I set up Kamlesh Hair Saloon in the Pawan Nagar area of Cidco, Nashik. The address is N 42 J A 1/511, right in the middle of Sri Ram Nagar. It’s a residential neighborhood, so most of the people who come in are my neighbors or people who live just a couple of streets away. I know most of their names and what kind of haircut they like before they even sit down. The shop is part of a small row of stores. It’s not a big place, but I’ve managed to fit in everything I need. I have a small shelf for the combs and the spray bottles. The walls are painted a light blue, though it’s starting to peel a little near the ceiling. I don't mind. It feels like home to me. On Sunday mornings, there is usually a line of people waiting outside, sitting on their bikes or standing in the shade. We talk about the local schools or how the traffic in Nashik is getting worse every year. It’s a friendly atmosphere. I don’t use a lot of fancy equipment. I have my favorite pair of shears that I’ve used for years, and they still cut better than anything else I’ve tried. Being a barber in Cidco means you are part of the community. You see the same faces every month, and you hear the stories of their lives while you work on their hair.
