Jay Janardan Kirana Store

Our little shop, Jay Janardan Kirana Store, is part of the Akanksha Appt. building on Tapovan Road. If you know where Hotel Saiprem is, we are right across from it in the Tapovan area of Nashik. It’s a decent spot with people coming and going all the time. We handle the daily groceries for the apartment residents and the neighbors nearby. It’s a simple business without any fuss. I open up early in the morning before the sun gets too high in the sky. The shelves are mostly filled with the things people need for their home kitchens. It’s not very fancy at all, just wooden shelves and some metal racks. Sometimes the deliveries come all at once and the floor gets a bit messy for a while. Nashik weather can be quite nice, so we keep the door open most of the day. We’ve got the zip code 422101, right here in the heart of things. It’s mostly just hard work and keeping track of what is in stock. People stop by to chat for a bit while they pick up their milk or sugar. Being opposite the hotel means we get some travelers too, but mostly it is just the locals. We don't do much advertising at all, people just know we are here. Just a regular kirana store doing its thing every day. We hope to stay here for a long time. It’s just how we live and work here.
