Hotel Sahyadri

If you’re driving on the Nashik Puna Highway, you’ll see Hotel Sahyadri when you get to the Shinde area. We are right near the Bharat Petrol Pump, which is a big landmark for everyone passing through. It’s a dusty spot because of all the trucks and cars zooming by on the highway, so we are always dusting off the front windows. This isn’t a place for a luxury vacation, it’s a stop for people who have been on the road for hours and just need to sit down or sleep. We see a lot of truck drivers and families moving between the two cities. The parking lot is gravel and can get a bit muddy when it rains, but there is plenty of space for bigger vehicles. Inside, it’s just plain tiles and basic furniture. We have a small kitchen that stays open late because highway travelers don't always arrive on a schedule. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we’ve got a generator that kicks in eventually. It’s a straightforward operation. We live nearby, so someone is almost always here to help if a guest arrives at some odd hour. You can hear the highway noise from the front rooms, but the ones in the back are a little quieter. It’s just a practical stop on a long, busy road. It’s a place to rest your eyes before getting back on the Nashik-Pune stretch.
