Geta Beauty Parlour

Over in Vani, Nashik, right at the Ambedkar Chowk, you’ll find Geta Beauty Parlour. Being at the chowk means we are right in the middle of everything. There is always someone walking by or a group of people standing around and talking near the statue. Our shop is a modest one. We have a couple of chairs and a small area where we keep all our powders and creams. It’s a bit of an older building, so the walls have a few cracks and the door creaks when you open it, but it’s got a lot of character. We start the day early because people in Vani like to get their errands done before the sun gets too high and the heat becomes unbearable. Most of our customers are women who have been living in this area for their whole lives. We know who is getting married, who had a baby, and whose kids are doing well in school. It’s more than just a beauty parlour; it’s a place where people catch up on the news of the town. We don't have a fancy menu of services, just the basics that everyone knows. We use what we have and we try to keep the place tidy, even though the wind always blows a bit of sand in from the chowk. It’s a simple life here in Vani and we are happy to be part of it.
