Gangotri Wadapav Centre & General Stores

If you are ever walking down S M Path on Nashik Road, you will probably see our place. We are sitting right opposite Shriram Hospital, which means we get quite a few people coming in who are visiting family or just waiting around. Gangotri Wadapav Centre & General Stores is a bit of a mix. We have the hot snacks on one side and then the usual packets and household items on the other. Making wadapav keeps us pretty busy, especially in the mornings and then again when school lets out. The oil gets hot, the smell of the garlic chutney goes everywhere, and we just keep frying until the batter runs out. It is a bit loud sometimes with the traffic on the road and people shouting their orders over the counter. We’ve been here at this spot in Nashik for a while now. The shelves for the general store part stay mostly full, though sometimes we run out of things faster than we can get them back from the wholesaler. It’s just me and a couple of others working here. We don't have a big office or anything, just the space behind the counter where we keep the accounts. It can get messy when it rains because people try to crowd under the awning to stay dry while they eat. We just hand out the food and keep the change ready. That's the daily routine for us.
