We are located right behind Gautre Hospital in Block 33. It’s a bit of a hidden spot, but if you find the hospital, you’ll find us. Shobha Sadafale let us set up shop here on Plot No. 46. We work on green services, specifically focusing on bamboo technology. It’s not just about the plants, but how to use them properly for building or other projects. The office is usually cluttered with blueprints and small pieces of bamboo we’re testing. We aren’t interested in those big glossy brochures you see from city companies. We’d rather just show you the work we’ve done in the neighborhood. My brother and I started this because we liked the idea of using natural materials instead of just concrete all the time. It’s hard work and the weather in this part of India doesn’t always help, but we stay at it. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers or out at sites checking on how the bamboo is holding up. It’s a small team, maybe four of us on a good day. We keep the books in a drawer and try to stay on top of the taxes. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the window, but we’ve fixed it for now with some sealant. We just want to keep doing this work as long as people need it. It’s a simple life here behind the hospital, but it keeps us out of trouble and gives us something useful to do.
