Model High School sits in Dharuhera, out in the Rewari district. It’s a straightforward kind of place where the day starts with the morning bell ringing across the grounds. We have kids coming in from all around the 123106 area, mostly walking or catching local transport. The classrooms have the usual wooden desks and boards, and there is always a bit of dust in the air when the wind picks up outside. Teachers here spend their time checking notebooks and trying to keep the students focused on their lessons. It isn’t a very quiet place, especially during the lunch break when everyone is out in the open spaces. We deal with the usual school stuff like leaky taps or a door that won't shut right, just like any other building in this part of town. The routine is the same most weeks, from Monday morning until the gates close on Saturday. People in Dharuhera know where we are, and we’ve been part of the neighborhood for quite some time now. There’s no big corporate office or anything like that, just a principal’s room and some staff sitting together during their free periods. It’s just a school where we try to get the work done and hope the students learn something useful before they head home to their families in the evening. The local tea stall outside the main gate is usually busy with parents waiting for their children when the final bell rings for the day.
