Sri Ragavendra Polytechnic College

Our college is located on New Pallipalayam Road in Namakkal. It is a polytechnic school, so the focus is very much on the technical side of things. The road outside can get pretty busy with trucks and buses, which is typical for Namakkal. The building itself is a large concrete structure designed to hold workshops and labs for the students. We have all the basic machinery and tools needed for the different engineering diplomas. The students come in from all over the Namakkal district, often starting their day quite early to make it to the first lab session. It is a place where people wear uniforms and get their hands dirty working on engines or circuits. The staff consists of people who know their technical subjects well and spend most of their time in the workshops rather than behind a desk. It’s a very practical atmosphere here. There isn't much in the way of decoration; it’s all about the equipment and the classrooms. During the lunch break, the students usually gather in the shade or near the entrance to catch some air. The heat in this part of Tamil Nadu is no joke, so the building is designed to be as airy as possible. It is a straightforward institution for anyone looking to get a technical education and start a career in the industry.
