Nikshitha Rock & Earth Movers

You can find us at 6-78 in Itukulathad. Nikshitha Rock & Earth Movers has been operating out of this small spot for a while. It’s mostly a yard full of equipment and some piles of stone and dirt here and there. Working with rocks and earth is heavy work, and it shows on our boots and the trucks. We don’t have a lot of decorations or anything like that because the dust just settles on everything anyway. Most days are spent figuring out how to get a machine into a tight spot or dealing with a stubborn patch of ground that doesn't want to move. It is just the way it goes in this line of work. People in Itukulathad usually just call us up when they have a project that involves more digging than they can do by hand. We aren't a corporate setup with a lot of paperwork. Usually, it’s just a conversation and a look at the site. The sun can be quite brutal out here, so we drink a lot of water and try to stay in the shade when the machines are doing their thing. It’s a lot of vibration and noise, but you get used to it after a few years. We just try to get the digging done so the next person can come in and start building whatever they have planned. It’s just us doing what we know how to do every day in the heat.
