Our work at Baruajan Agro Tea Producer Company is centered in the village area. We are located at Po-Baruajan in Mordholi Kachari Gaon. It is a very local setup, and we are surrounded by people who have lived here their whole lives. Working with tea in a village like this means you are always part of the community. We don't have a corporate office in a city. Instead, we work right where the tea is grown. The Kachari Gaon area is beautiful, especially in the early mornings when the mist is still hanging over the fields. We spend our time managing the tea production and making sure the local producers are getting their work done. It’s a lot of manual labor and coordination. Sometimes the roads to Baruajan get a bit muddy after a storm, which makes transport difficult, but we manage. Our building is simple and serves its purpose. We drink a lot of tea ourselves while we discuss the daily tasks. It is a very hands-on type of business. We know the names of almost everyone we work with. There is no need for fancy titles or complicated hierarchies here. We just focus on the tea and the seasons. It’s a quiet way to live and work, far away from the noise of the bigger towns in Assam. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done every single day.
