We’re located in Dhandharbigha, which isn't the biggest place, but it’s where we all work and live. Praytan Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited started because a few of us were sitting around talking about how tough things have been lately. Everything costs more, and it seems like the people buying our crops always want to pay less. We’re just a group of local farmers who think that maybe if we stand together, we can change that a little bit. We don’t have a big office or a fancy website. Most of our talking happens right out in the fields or under a tree when the sun is too hot. We discuss what we’re going to plant and how we can get the stuff we need without spending every last rupee we have. It’s about being practical and looking out for one another. If one farmer is having trouble, the others try to pitch in with advice or a hand. We know every inch of the soil in Dhandharbigha. We’ve spent our whole lives here, so we know what works and what doesn’t. This company is just our way of making that official. We aren't looking to change the world; we just want to make sure the farming life stays viable for us and our kids. It’s just honest people trying to do honest work and helping each other stay afloat in a tough business.
