Templeton Academy International

Being up here in Bhimtal near Nainital makes for a different kind of school day. Templeton Academy International is located in a spot where the air feels a bit fresher than the city. The grounds are quite large because we have space to spread out in the hills. We have students coming from all over, and many of them stay on the grounds, so it is a 24-hour kind of place for some of the staff. The buildings are built to handle the mountain weather, which can get cold in the winter months. We spend a lot of time walking between the different blocks for meals or classes. It is not like a city school where everything is in one building. We have a lot of stairs and paths to deal with. The daily routine is pretty strict because you have to be when you're managing a lot of teenagers in a place like this. We have teachers who live on-site too, so there is always someone around if something goes wrong or if a student feels sick. It’s a lot of work maintaining the property and keeping everything running, especially when the weather turns bad. We just focus on the day-to-day stuff, making sure the kitchen is stocked and the classrooms have enough heat. It is a quiet life compared to the plains, but we stay busy.
