Ultratech Cement Limited

We are based out of D-11 in the ACW Colony here in Awarpur. It’s part of the Ultratech setup near Korpana in Chandrapur district. Most of us living in the colony have been here for quite some time now. Life around the cement works is pretty straightforward. You wake up, maybe have a quick tea, and get to the plant. It gets really hot in this part of Maharashtra, especially during the summer months, but we just get on with it. The work is mostly about keeping things running. There’s always dust around, that’s just how it is when you’re dealing with cement every day. People around here know the site well because it’s a big part of the local landscape. We don't really do much fancy talk or use big words. We just make sure the bags are filled and the trucks keep moving out of the gates. It’s a busy place with a lot of noise from the machinery, but you get used to that after the first few weeks. Sometimes we gather at the colony shops in the evening just to chat and relax. It’s a small community where everyone knows everyone else. We’ve seen the town grow a bit over the years. Staying here in the colony means work is never far away. It’s just a regular life in an industrial town, making sure the building needs of the region are met without much fuss.
