Mrs. Sulbha S. Hood started this little setup at house number 97 in Snehal Nagar. It’s right near Mahilashram. We basically run things from home. It’s a small-scale industry where we make things by hand. Most days, the kitchen and the back area are full of the smell of spices or whatever we are preparing. It’s not a factory with big machines. We do things the old-fashioned way. Neighbors often stop by to see what’s cooking or to pick up an order. We’ve been in Snehal Nagar for a long time, so everyone knows the house. Sometimes we run out of stock because we can only make so much in a day. It’s a lot of work, keeping track of the ingredients and the packaging. We use simple bags and labels that we put on ourselves. It’s just us working together here. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. If the product is good, people buy it. That’s how we’ve always operated. The Mahilashram area is quite peaceful, which helps when we are busy working. Sometimes the porch is covered in containers waiting to be filled. We just keep at it, day after day. It’s a humble business, but it keeps us busy and we like being part of the neighborhood life. People know if they want something authentic and made with care, they can just walk up to our door at Snehal Nagar and we will help them out.
