Shorab Pan Palace

Shorab Pan Palace is just a small shop tucked away at Jai Bhim Square in Hiwari Nagar. We are right there near the square in Nagpur, 440008. It is not a huge place, just a corner where people stop for a minute or two. We sell all kinds of pan, cigarettes, and those little things people need throughout the day like matches or gum. The neighborhood is always active. There is always someone standing around talking, or someone on a scooter pulling up for a quick buy. We open early in the morning and stay open until late at night because that is when people are out and about. The shop is small, so everything is within arm's reach for us. We have got the glass jars of supari and the different leaves all lined up on the shelf. Sometimes the counter gets a bit cluttered with change and old newspapers, but we know where everything is kept. It is a bit of a social hub for the local guys in Hiwari Nagar. We hear all the news about what is happening in the square before anyone else does. It is a simple way to make a living, just serving the community one pan at a time. The monsoon season can be a bit tricky because the rain blows right into the front, but we just pull the shutter halfway and keep going. It is just how things are done here in this part of Nagpur every day.
