Living and working at F113 in the ACW Colony means you’re right in the middle of everything here in Awarpur. It’s a bit out of the way, being in this part of Maharashtra, but that’s where the work is. The cement plant is a huge part of life for everyone in the colony. You get used to the grey dust on your shoes and the constant hum of the machinery in the background. Our spot is basically just where the paperwork gets done and the schedules are made. It’s a practical space. We’ve got old metal filing cabinets and desks that have been around longer than most of the staff. It’s not the kind of place you’d find in a city high-rise. Here, people wear sturdy boots and shirts that can handle a bit of dirt. The sun hits the colony pretty hard in the afternoons, so we mostly stay indoors until it cools off a bit. We know all our neighbors because we all work for the same outfit. It’s a tight-knit group. We aren't doing anything fancy; we’re just making sure the cement gets out on time and the plant keeps running. Some days the phones don't stop ringing, and other days it’s just us catching up on logs. It’s a steady, dusty kind of life, and we’re just another part of the gears turning here in Awarpur. We don't mind the noise much anymore as it just sounds like work.
