Shakuntla Devi Shivnarayan & Sons

We are located at Shop No. 1 in Brindavan Colony, right across from Murli Dhaba in Jhinjhri. It is a family-run place, and the name Shakuntla Devi Shivnarayan & Sons has been on the board for quite a while. Being right opposite the dhaba means we always have the smell of cooking food drifting over, which makes us hungry long before lunch time. Our shop is a bit of a mix of things, and the shelves are usually packed tight with whatever we are currently stocking. We spend most of the day greeting people who walk in from the colony or those who stop their cars after eating across the street. It is a small space, so you have to step over things to get to the back, but we know where every single item is hidden. The kids sometimes hang around after school, and the atmosphere is more like a home than a business most of the time. We don't have a big marketing plan or a fancy website to show off. We just open up the shutters in the morning and see who comes by. Jhinjhri is a growing spot, so we see a lot of new faces along with the regulars who have been coming to us for years. It’s just us doing our daily work, keeping the books by hand and making sure the shop stays running for the next generation. We just try to be helpful to the neighbors.
