Ruchita Gruha Udyog

Ruchita Gruha Udyog is based at Plot No-18 in the Ramkrishna Housing Society. We are right in the middle of Narendra Nagar. Since it’s a housing society, it feels more like a home than a factory. We started this as a small home industry. It’s mostly women from the neighborhood working here together. We sit together, sorting through things and talking while we work. It’s a nice atmosphere, even when we have a lot of work to do. We don't have big industrial machines, just the kind of stuff you’d find in a large kitchen. The air always smells like whatever we are cooking or grinding that day. Sometimes the neighbors come over just to chat and see what’s new. We don't do any big advertising or anything. Word of mouth in Narendra Nagar is usually enough to keep us busy with orders. It’s a practical way to earn some money while staying close to our families. The space is a bit tight because we have to store everything in one of the back rooms. We have to be organized, or we’d never find the right bags when the delivery guy comes. It’s not a corporate office with desks and computers. It’s just a group of people working hard in a house on Plot No-18. It’s simple and it works for us every day.
