Hotel Heritage 2001

Our place is right near the VCA Ground in Civil Lines. It is a pretty good area of Nagpur because of all the trees and the wide roads that aren't too crowded. We have been here since around the time the name suggests, though things have changed a bit since then. The building has a flat roof and a few floors of rooms for our guests. We get a lot of people coming in when there is a cricket match nearby, which makes things very busy and loud for a few days. The rest of the time, it is fairly quiet around here. It is nice. We spend our mornings talking to the laundry service and making sure the water heaters are working for the morning showers. The lobby has some old chairs where people sit and read the newspaper or talk to each other. We don't have any of those modern digital check-in systems; we still use a big ledger book for the names and dates. It feels more real that way to us. Our staff has been with us for a long time, so they know how everything works, even the old pipes in the back that need a little tap sometimes. We don't try to impress anyone with big decorations or fancy lights. We just offer a clean room in a nice part of town for a fair price. It is a steady business and we are happy to be here.
