Hotel Chanakya

Hotel Chanakya is at 3 Modi Line in Sitabuldi. The area is 440012, and it’s a very busy part of Nagpur. The streets around here are narrow and packed with shops selling all kinds of clothes and electronics. You have to walk through a lot of people to get to our front door. The building is tucked in between others, so it doesn't get much direct sunlight in the lower rooms. We have a small counter where we keep the keys on hooks. The walls inside are painted a light color, but they have some scuffs from bags hitting them over the years. We spend our mornings checking the laundry and making sure the hallways are clear. It’s a loud neighborhood because of the market, but people like being close to the shops. The ceiling fans spin all day long to keep the air moving. We don't have any big signs or advertisements. Usually, people find us because they are already in the market for work. There is a small tea stall just a few steps away where we get our morning cups. The stairs are narrow, so you have to be careful when carrying big luggage up to the higher floors. We just focus on the daily tasks, like mopping the tiles and answering the phone when it rings. It’s a basic place in a very hectic part of the city, and we just go about our work every day.
