Our business is tucked away in Hauman Lane, right in the Sitabuldi area. If you know where Gujrat Lodge is, we are directly opposite them. It’s a very busy part of town with narrow lanes and lots of old buildings. Bhagyalakshmi Enterprises has been here for years, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The lane is always crowded with scooters and people walking, so it can be a bit of a squeeze to get through. Our office is small and filled with papers and old ledgers. We don't use a lot of modern technology; we still prefer writing things down by hand most of the time. It feels more real that way. The noise from Sitabuldi is constant, with people shouting and bells ringing from the nearby temples. We have a small window that looks out onto the lane, and we spend a lot of time watching the world go by when we aren't busy. It’s a very traditional atmosphere here. We don't have any corporate policies or fancy uniforms. We just wear what’s comfortable and get on with the day. Sometimes we share tea with the folks from Gujrat Lodge when things are quiet. It’s a friendly enough place once you get to know the regulars. We are just part of the fabric of this old street, doing our bit every day without making any big fuss about it.
