A.R.Mohanlal

Living and working near Chandra Shekhar Azad Chowk means dealing with a lot of noise. A.R.Mohanlal has been operating out of 46 C.A. Rd. for a long time. It’s one of those buildings that has seen better days, but it serves its purpose. Inside, it’s mostly shelves stacked with whatever we happen to be dealing with that week. The floor is old stone and it’s got cracks from years of moving heavy crates around. We don’t really have a big staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If someone asks for something specific, we usually have to climb a ladder or dig through a back room to find it. It’s not a showroom or anything. There’s a desk in the corner with a pile of old receipts and a phone that rings more than it should. We get people coming in from the street all the time, mostly just asking for prices or looking for a specific item they can't find elsewhere. The tea guy comes by at eleven and four, which is usually the highlight of the afternoon. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or marketing stuff because most folks around here already know where we are. It’s just a regular business where we try to keep things moving and make sure the bills get paid on time. Sometimes it’s slow, and sometimes we can barely keep up, but that’s just how it goes here in the middle of all this city traffic.
