Merta is a place where everyone knows about farming, especially with the big markets nearby. Our group, Km Kissan Samriddhi Producer Company Limited, is based right here in Merta Roamerta. We operate out of Kiran Devi’s place, which is close to where Bansi stays. If you know the Rajasthan 341510 India area, it is pretty easy to find. We aren't some big city company with a lot of staff. Most of us are just neighbors who realized that working alone wasn't getting us very far. We deal with whatever the season brings, mostly focusing on helping each other get the crops sorted and sold. It gets pretty dusty and hot around here, and the work is never really finished. We spend a lot of time just talking about the soil and the prices at the mandi. This company is basically just a way for us local farmers to have a bit more say in what happens to our produce after it leaves the field. It’s hard work, and we make mistakes sometimes, but we are learning as we go. We don't have any flashy brochures or anything like that. Just a group of people in Merta trying to make things a little bit better for our families. There is a lot of pride in the farming we do here, and we just want to keep that going while making sure everyone gets by okay.
