Annai College

If you travel to Kovilacheri in Kumbakonam, you will find our college standing there. It is a local place in Tamil Nadu where a lot of young people from the surrounding towns come to study. The weather here is often very hot, so the shade from the building is always a relief. We have several blocks for different departments, and they are all connected by simple paved paths. You will see students standing in groups near the notice boards or waiting for the local buses at the end of the day. The classrooms have high ceilings and the fans are almost always going at full speed. We don't have any of those modern glass walls or anything, just solid brick and mortar that has seen many batches of students pass through. The office is usually busy with people asking about forms or fees, and there is always a stack of papers waiting to be signed. On some days, the canteen nearby gets quite loud, and you can smell the food being prepared for the lunch break. It is a busy atmosphere but it feels familiar to everyone who lives around here. We just focus on the daily schedule, making sure the bells ring on time and the rooms are opened early enough. It is a straightforward setup where the focus is just on getting through the syllabus and helping the students finish their degrees.
