Mukhtiar Singh Mann

I’ve been here in Matiari for a long time now. People around here know the place well, right near the UBI bank landmark. It’s a quiet spot in Nadia, specifically the Kaliganj side. Mostly, the days go by with folks from the village stopping in. My name is Mukhtiar Singh Mann, and I handle things here myself mostly. It’s not a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a simple setup in the village post area where we get the work done. The weather can get pretty hot in the afternoons, so we usually start early. Dealing with the neighbors and the local crowd is what keeps the day moving. There isn’t much traffic out this way, which is nice. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow, but we manage. People walk over from the post office area to see us. It’s been this way for years. We just focus on what’s in front of us. If you are coming from the main road, you just look for the bank and you’ll find us easily enough. It is a local life, nothing too fast or complicated. We see the same faces every day and that makes the work feel more like part of the community. The sounds of the village are always in the background, whether it’s the birds or the occasional tractor passing by. It’s the kind of place where you know everyone’s family. We take it one day at a time, making sure the work is finished before the sun sets too low. It’s just how things are done here in Matiari.
