We operate out of Haripur village, which is under the Natu-Mohanpur post office. Supriya Banerjee is the one who looks after the day-to-day things at Banerjee Krishi Agro Product Private Limited. Being in a village means we are right where the action is when it comes to farming. We are not some distant company in a tall building. We are right here in the dirt with everyone else. We deal with agro products that people in this area actually use. The rhythm of our day usually follows the sun and the seasons. When it is harvest time, everything is very hectic. When it is the off-season, we spend more time planning and fixing things up. It is a very local way of doing things. We talk to our neighbors about the weather and the price of seeds over a cup of tea. Our setup in Haripur is basic and functional. We do not have a marketing department or anyone to write polished speeches. We just write down what we need to do and get to it. Sometimes the logistics of getting things to and from the village can be a bit of a headache, especially when the roads are bad. But that is just part of living and working here.
