Biswas Fashion Private Limited

We are out in Natagram, which is part of the Gaighata area near Habra. The place is under Saikat Biswa’s care. It’s a village setting, so there’s plenty of green around, but the roads can be a bit bumpy. We have a small facility here for our fashion business. It’s not like the big factories you see in the city. We work at a slower pace but we stay busy enough. Most of the people working here are from the village or nearby. We deal with garments and textiles. The work happens in a building that used to be a storage space. We’ve cleaned it up, but it still has that old feel. It’s peaceful here compared to Kolkata. You can hear the birds and the occasional tractor. We spend our days sorting through materials and checking orders. Being in North Parganas, we are far from the main markets, so we have to be organized with our transport. We use a small van to move things to Habra. It’s a family-style environment. We don't have a human resources department or fancy titles. Everyone just pitches in where they are needed. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to get the goods out on time, but we do our best. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We are just local people making clothes in our own village. It feels good to work where you live. That’s the way we like to do things and we just keep it practical.
